Best moisturizer for dry skin in Pakistan
Dry skin needs both water and something to hold it there. The routine that works is a humectant like hyaluronic acid on damp skin, followed by a moisturiser with emollients to seal it. In Pakistan the bigger driver is often air conditioning rather than weather, which is why skin can feel tight in July as easily as January.

Dry skin is short of lipids, so what matters is whether the formula supplies them — ceramides, urea or a real emollient — and at what price per millilitre. This is the step you use twice a day for years, so the per-millilitre number matters more here than anywhere else in a routine. Imported ceramide creams cost roughly three times per millilitre what a locally made one does.

The imported rows come from Pakistani reseller listings the same day, and grey-import pricing on CeraVe in particular moves a long way between sellers. Note which pages state a percentage: Oneskin gives 2.5% ceramides and Jenpharm gives 10% urea, which is enough to judge them. Most of the rest name an ingredient and stop. Dry skin and dehydrated skin are different
Dry skin lacks oil and is usually a permanent skin type. Dehydrated skin lacks water and is a temporary condition anyone can have, including oily skin. The fixes differ.
The quick check: dehydrated skin often looks dull with fine crepey lines and can still be shiny by afternoon. Genuinely dry skin feels rough and tight most of the time and rarely gets oily at all. Dehydration is fixed with water and humectants; dryness needs oils and emollients too.
How the three ingredient types work together
Humectants like hyaluronic acid and glycerin pull water in. Emollients like squalane smooth the surface. Occlusives like petrolatum sit on top and slow water escaping. Dry skin usually needs all three.
Using only a humectant in dry air is the common mistake. Without something on top to hold it, the water it attracted evaporates and skin can end up drier than before. That is why a hyaluronic acid serum alone often disappoints.
Air conditioning is the hidden cause
Long hours in AC dry skin much like winter air does. Someone spending the day in an air-conditioned office may need a richer routine in July than in January.
This is worth noticing before you change products, because it points to a different fix. Reapplying a light moisturiser during the day, or keeping the routine the same and adding a hydrating serum, handles it better than switching to a heavy cream you will hate in the heat.
How to apply it
On slightly damp skin, within about a minute of cleansing. Press it in rather than rubbing, and use a bit more at night than in the morning.
The damp-skin rule matters most for dry skin, since humectants need water to hold onto. If you cleanse and then spend five minutes doing something else, you have lost most of the benefit.

Comfort within one to two weeks, less flaking by three or four, and no tight feeling an hour after applying. Fine lines from dehydration soften early, which is the fastest visible change in skincare.
