Serum for oily skin in Pakistan
For oily skin in Pakistan, a lightweight niacinamide serum is usually a better first step than heavy oils or too many exfoliants. Niacinamide and Zinc PCA help the skin look more balanced while hyaluronic acid keeps the routine comfortable.
Hydra Glow Serum is the oily-skin one: niacinamide 10% with zinc PCA, Rs. 1,149 for 30 ml. The moisturiser is shown with it because oily skin skipping that step is what this page argues against.

Why oily skin still needs hydration
Oil and hydration are not the same. Oily skin can still feel dehydrated, tight or irritated. A water-based serum and light moisturiser can help comfort the barrier without making the face feel heavy.
Ingredients to look for
Look for niacinamide for visible oil and tone, Zinc PCA for shine-prone skin and hyaluronic acid for hydration. Avoid starting with several strong acids at the same time.
Elluvi Hydra Glow Serum combines 10% niacinamide, 1% Zinc PCA and 0.5% low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid. The table below is the shelf as it actually stands in Pakistan, and one pattern runs through it. Niacinamide is the one category where percentages are reliably stated, because The Ordinary set the reference formula and everyone copied the label as well as the recipe. Move one active across, to salicylic or azelaic, and the percentages start disappearing — a serum that names azelaic acid in its formula without a number is telling you nothing about whether there is enough of it to matter. Start with the active whose strength you can read.
| Active | What it does for oily skin, and how to start | Local price |
|---|---|---|
| Niacinamide 10% with Zinc PCA 1% | Oil and pore appearance, plus barrier support. The safest daily starting point, morning and night, and the one category where the percentage is nearly always stated | Rs. 699 to Rs. 1,500 |
| Salicylic acid 2% | Oil-soluble, so it works inside the pore on blackheads and congestion rather than on the surface. Two or three nights a week to begin, not daily | Rs. 1,640, imported Rs. 3,060 |
| Azelaic acid 10% | Acne, redness and the brown marks left behind, from one ingredient. Slow, and safe in pregnancy. Cosmetic 10% is scarce here and mostly imported | Rs. 4,440 to Rs. 4,500 imported |
| Hyaluronic acid | Water, not oil control. Useful because skin that is oily by afternoon and tight after washing is dehydrated, and stripping it harder makes the oil worse | Usually included in the serums above |
| Retinol at a stated percentage | Texture, congestion and early lines, at night only. Worth adding third, after niacinamide and vitamin C, once nothing else is reacting | Rs. 1,299 to Rs. 1,449 |
How to use it
Apply two to three drops after cleansing, then follow with a lightweight moisturiser. Start once daily. If your skin stays comfortable, use morning and night.
Niacinamide vs vitamin C vs retinol
Choose niacinamide first for oily skin, pores and barrier support. Choose vitamin C for morning dullness and dark spots. Choose retinol for night repair, texture and early lines. Do not start all three in the same week.
If you are starting from nothing, the order that causes the fewest problems is niacinamide, then vitamin C, then retinol, adding one every three to four weeks. That way if something reacts you know which product caused it.
Oily skin is often dehydrated skin
Skin that is oily by afternoon but tight after washing is usually dehydrated rather than simply oily. Stripping it harder makes that worse, because the barrier compensates by producing more oil.
The practical test is how your skin feels ten minutes after cleansing. Comfortable means your routine is balanced. Tight, squeaky or stinging means the cleanser is too harsh, and the oil you see later in the day is partly a response to that.
What actually helps with oily skin in humidity
A gentle cleanser, a niacinamide serum, a genuinely lightweight moisturiser and a non-greasy SPF. That is the whole routine. Adding more products, especially more oil-control products, usually backfires.
Pakistani summers make heavy textures unpleasant, which is useful, because it pushes you toward the gel and lotion formulas oily skin does better with anyway. Save richer creams for winter if you need them at all.
Serums to be careful with if you have oily skin
Heavy oil-based serums, thick occlusive formulas and anything with a long list of rich butters high in the ingredients list will feel unpleasant and can contribute to congestion. Alcohol-heavy mattifying serums cause the opposite problem by stripping the barrier.
Neither extreme works well. The formulas worth using tend to be water-based with humectants like hyaluronic acid and glycerin, plus one active doing the actual work.
How long before oiliness changes
Expect four to eight weeks. Oil production responds to a settled barrier rather than to any single product, and the barrier takes weeks to recover if it has been over-cleansed.
The most common mistake is deciding a serum is not working after ten days and switching. Changing products every two weeks guarantees you never reach the point at which any of them could have helped.

FAQs
Three steps, one active doing the work in each. The Brightening Face Wash is 5% glycolic acid for oil, sweat and the day's pollution. Hydra Glow Serum is 10% niacinamide with 1% zinc PCA, which is the pairing with real evidence behind reducing sebum and the look of pores. The Hydrating Moisturiser is a 120 ml light lotion, because skipping moisturiser is one of the reasons oily skin stays oily.
