How to choose
Why it is paired, not sold alone
Hyaluronic acid hydrates; it does not treat oil, marks or pores. Pairing it with niacinamide, vitamin C or retinol means one step does two jobs, and the hydration offsets the dryness those actives can cause.
Percentages on the label
Hyaluronic acid works at low strengths. Around 0.1% to 2% is the normal range in finished products, and more is not better: very high amounts can feel sticky and, in dry indoor air, can leave skin feeling tighter. 0.5% to 1% is a comfortable everyday level.
How to apply it in dry or air-conditioned rooms
Apply to slightly damp skin and follow with a moisturizer. In winter or under air-conditioning, the moisturizer on top is what keeps the water in.

Can I use hyaluronic acid with niacinamide, vitamin C or retinol?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid pairs with all three and helps with the dryness they can cause, which is why Elluvi builds it into those formulas rather than selling it as a separate step.
Is hyaluronic acid good for dry skin in winter?
Yes, as long as a moisturizer goes on top. On its own in dry air it can draw water out of the skin instead of from the air, so seal it in.
