Best cream for acne scars in Pakistan: what a cream can reach
Almost everyone who searches this has one of two things. Flat brown or red patches where a spot used to be are marks, and they fade with the right actives and sun protection. Indented pits that catch the light at an angle are scars, and no cream in Pakistan or anywhere else fills one. Telling them apart takes ten seconds and decides whether you should be buying a cream at all.
Honest answer first: nothing on this shelf fills a scar, and nothing sold in Pakistan does either. The products shown help the brown and red marks that sit alongside scars, which is a different problem and a solvable one.

Mark or scar: the ten-second test
Stand at a mirror and turn your face so light rakes across it from the side. If the area changes colour but the surface stays flat, it is a mark and a cream can help. If it dents, pits or casts a shadow, it is an atrophic scar and it needs a procedure, not a jar.
Do this in daylight, not under a bathroom light directly overhead, which flattens everything. It is worth the trouble because the two problems are sold the same cream by the same shops, and one of those sales is honest.
What the marks-and-scars shelf costs in Pakistan
For post-blemish marks the paying ingredients are a retinoid, alpha arbutin, mandelic acid and vitamin C. Pakistani options sit between Rs. 800 and Rs. 2,000; imported ones cost two to five times that for the same actives.
Prices were read from each brand's own online store on 11 September 2026. Imported products have no Pakistani store, so those rows are a reseller's listing read the same day and are labelled as such. Where a seller does not state a size or an active's percentage, that is recorded as not stated rather than guessed at — the absence is the useful part, because you cannot compare a dose that nobody publishes. Remember what the table above says: none of these fills an atrophic scar, so what you are buying here is the mark, not the dent.
| Product | Stated actives | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Elluvi Hydra Glow Cream | 50 ml. Retinol 0.3% and alpha arbutin 2%, both stated, plus niacinamide 5% | Rs. 1,449 |
| Jenpharm MandelAC Cream | Mandelic acid line for acne-prone skin. Size and percentage not stated | Rs. 1,298 |
| Jenpharm MandelAC Serum | Same line, serum format. Percentage not stated | Rs. 1,598 |
| Jenpharm Maxdif Brightening Cream | Pigmentation line. Percentages not stated | Rs. 1,498 |
| Derma Shine D Premium 1% Retinol Serum | 30 ml, retinol stated at 1% — a strength most people cannot use nightly | Rs. 1,555 |
| The Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%, imported | Both percentages stated. Reseller listing | Rs. 3,850 |
| CeraVe Skin Renewing Retinol Serum, imported | Encapsulated retinol, percentage not stated. Reseller listing | Rs. 6,900 |
What responds to a cream, and what does not
Topicals help post-inflammatory marks — brown in most Pakistani skin tones, red where vessels are involved. They do not reach ice pick, boxcar or rolling scars, which are missing tissue. Raised keloid scars are a third case and belong with a dermatologist.
| What you have | How it looks | Does a cream help? | What actually works |
|---|---|---|---|
| Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation | Flat brown patch | Yes | Retinoid, niacinamide, alpha arbutin, vitamin C, daily SPF |
| Post-inflammatory erythema | Flat pink or red patch | Partly | Time, sun protection, azelaic acid; vascular laser if persistent |
| Ice pick / boxcar / rolling scars | Indented, catches light | No | Microneedling, subcision, TCA cross, fractional laser |
| Keloid or hypertrophic scar | Raised, firm | No | Dermatologist — intralesional steroid, silicone, pressure |
The actives that fade marks
A retinoid speeds the turnover that carries pigmented cells out. Niacinamide interrupts pigment transfer. Alpha arbutin and vitamin C slow pigment production. None of them works without sunscreen, because UV re-triggers the same pigment the cream is clearing.
There is no need to run all four. One retinoid at night and one brightening active, with SPF every morning, does the work. Stacking four actives on skin that is still breaking out is the reliable way to add irritation, and irritation makes new marks.
Treat the acne first, or you are refilling the bucket
Every new spot leaves a new mark. Fading marks while acne is still active is emptying a bucket with the tap running. Get the breakouts under control first, with a dermatologist if they are cystic, and the marks become a finite job.
This is also the argument against starting a strong retinol on actively inflamed skin. It can be done, but a gentler route through the acne — and then the retinoid for the marks — costs less skin barrier and less time.
Do not scrub, do not pick, do not bleach
Physical scrubs, lemon juice, toothpaste and fairness creams all make marks last longer. Picking a spot roughly doubles how long its mark stays. The single biggest thing you can do about acne marks is nothing at all to the spot while it is there.
Fairness and mix creams are sold hardest into exactly this search in Pakistan. An unlabelled cream that clears marks in two weeks is almost always doing it with a steroid, and steroid-damaged skin gives you thinning, visible vessels and a rebound that is harder to treat than the marks were.
How long marks honestly take
Brown marks fade over three to six months with actives and daily sunscreen, and over a year or more without. Red marks are slower and less predictable. Anything promising a fortnight is describing a different product than the one you are buying.
Photograph the same cheek in the same light once a fortnight. Marks fade too slowly to see in a mirror day to day, which is why people abandon working routines at week six.
What the procedures cost in Pakistan, roughly
For true indented scars, microneedling and fractional laser are the mainstream options in Pakistani clinics and are usually sold as a course of three to six sessions rather than one. Prices vary widely by city and clinic, so get two quotes and ask how many sessions are in the estimate before comparing them.
We do not quote a figure here because the ones we could verify would be out of date within a season, and a wrong number is worse than none. What is worth knowing before you walk in: ask who performs the procedure, what device is used, and what the plan is if the first three sessions change nothing.
A routine that fits this problem
Morning: gentle cleanser, a brightening active if you use one, sunscreen. Night: cleanser, then a retinoid two to three nights a week, then moisturiser. That is the whole thing. Marks do not need a ten-step routine, they need the same four steps repeated for three months.
Elluvi's Hydra Glow Cream fits the night slot — retinol 0.3% with niacinamide 5% and alpha arbutin 2% in one jar, which is the mark-fading combination without four separate bottles. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and it is not for skin that is currently inflamed.

FAQs
Pigmentation responds to three things: an active that slows pigment production, gentle exfoliation, and sunscreen every single morning. Without the third, the first two are running against a tap that stays open. Nothing here is a whitening product, and anything sold as one in Pakistan is worth reading the label of twice.
