Best cream for dark circles in Pakistan: find out which kind first

Dark circles are four different problems wearing the same name. Pigmented circles are extra melanin under the eye and respond to creams. Vascular circles are blood vessels showing through thin skin and do not. Structural circles are a hollow casting a shadow, which is anatomy. And tired-looking circles are puffiness and dehydration, which change overnight. A cream helps one of the four, so the first thing worth doing is finding out which you have.

The two tests that tell you which kind

Stretch the skin gently sideways under one eye. If the darkness fades, it is vascular or structural. If it stays, it is pigment and a cream can help. Then tilt your head back and look in a mirror: if the darkness lightens a lot, it is a shadow from a hollow, not colour at all.

What an eye product costs in Pakistan, and whether to buy one

Eye creams here run Rs. 700 to Rs. 3,250. Caffeine is the ingredient with the most support for the vascular and puffy kinds, and it works for hours rather than months. Elluvi does not sell an eye product, so nothing on this page is a pitch.

Prices were read from each brand's own online store on 11 September 2026. Imported products have no Pakistani store, so those rows are a reseller's listing read the same day and are labelled as such. Where a seller does not state a size or an active's percentage, that is recorded as not stated rather than guessed at — the absence is the useful part, because you cannot compare a dose that nobody publishes. Note what the per-gram column does to the Rs. 1,199 jar: 20 g of eye cream is roughly Rs. 60 per gram, against Rs. 10 per millilitre for a full-size face moisturiser. You are usually paying for the size of the pot, not for what is in it.

Pigmented circles are the treatable kind

Common in South Asian skin, often hereditary, and worsened by sun and by rubbing. Niacinamide, vitamin C and a very gentle retinoid help over three to six months, with daily sunscreen doing more than any of them. Start a retinoid once a week under the eye, not more.

Eye skin is the thinnest on the body and irritates at strengths the rest of the face ignores. Irritation causes pigment, so an aggressive approach here reliably makes pigmented circles worse.

Vascular circles, and why cream cannot reach them

These are veins visible through thin skin, blue or purple rather than brown. No topical thickens skin enough to hide them. Sleep and reduced salt help the swelling around them, caffeine constricts briefly, and concealer is a legitimate answer rather than a failure.

The rubbing loop, and allergies

Rubbing the eyes causes inflammation, inflammation causes pigment, pigment gets rubbed at more. In Pakistan this very often traces back to untreated allergic rhinitis or dust exposure. Treating the allergy does more for the circles than any eye cream on sale.

Sleep, iron and the medical causes worth ruling out

Poor sleep, iron-deficiency anaemia and thyroid problems all show under the eyes, and anaemia is common enough here to be worth a blood test before a course of creams. None of those is fixed by a jar.

What to be careful with around the eye

Strong acids, high-strength retinoids, fragrance and anything containing hydroquinone. The eye area is where mix creams do their fastest damage, and thinned skin under the eye makes vascular circles permanently more visible — turning a treatable problem into an untreatable one.

Why this page recommends nothing from our own shelf

Elluvi makes no eye cream, and the retinol in our night cream is 0.3%, which is stronger than most people should start with directly under the eye. For pigmented circles, a dedicated low-strength eye product from another brand, plus daily sunscreen, is the honest recommendation.

The one thing worth taking from this catalogue for this problem is the habit rather than a product: sunscreen every morning, extended up to the orbital bone, is the single largest lever on pigmented circles and costs nothing extra.

FAQs

Only pigmented dark circles respond to a cream, using niacinamide, vitamin C and a low-strength retinoid over three to six months. Vascular and structural circles do not respond to any topical.
